1. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information:
A. Account and Authentication Information
When you create an account or sign in, we may receive: your email address, your authentication provider identifier (e.g., Apple or Google ID), basic profile information provided by your sign-in method, and email verification status. EarNoun uses Supabase for authentication and supports email/password, Sign in with Apple, and Sign in with Google.
If you use Sign in with Apple and choose to hide your email address, we receive only the relay address Apple generates for us.
B. Learning and App Usage Information
To provide the core learning experience, we store and process: your progress through sessions, which words you have answered and reviewed, review counts and timestamps, and progress synced between devices. Progress is stored per account and per content language.
We also record which content packs your account has downloaded, together with the app version that requested them, so that we can serve the correct pack version and diagnose download failures.
C. Subscription and Purchase Information
If you purchase or restore a subscription, we receive the status information needed to determine access to paid sessions: the store platform, product identifier, subscription status, expiration date, and the store's transaction identifiers. We do not receive or store your payment card number, billing address, or any other payment credential. Payments are processed entirely by the Apple App Store or Google Play. We use RevenueCat to manage subscription status and entitlements.
D. Content and Audio Delivery Information
When you play a session, EarNoun downloads a content pack containing images and audio from our servers. We may process the requested session and pack identifiers and standard delivery metadata such as IP address and timestamps, which our hosting and content-delivery providers log in the ordinary course of serving requests.
E. Technical and Diagnostics Information
We collect technical information necessary to operate, secure, and debug the service, such as app version, request and response metadata, and server error logs.
What we do not collect: EarNoun contains no third-party analytics, advertising, tracking, or crash-reporting SDK. We do not build advertising profiles, and we do not track you across other apps or websites. We do not collect your contacts, photos, precise location, or microphone input.
2. How We Use Information
We use information for the following purposes:
- To create and manage your account and keep your sessions secure.
- To deliver learning content, audio, and images.
- To track your progress and sync it across your devices.
- To determine and enforce free and subscriber access.
- To process and restore purchases.
- To improve content quality, review flows, and product performance.
- To detect abuse, fraud, security incidents, or service misuse.
- To comply with legal obligations.
3. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We may share information with the following categories of service providers as necessary to operate EarNoun:
- Supabase, for authentication and account infrastructure.
- RevenueCat, for subscription and entitlement management.
- Apple and Google, for authentication and in-app purchase processing.
- Amazon Web Services, for backend hosting, database storage, and content delivery.
A note on AI and speech providers: the images and audio in EarNoun are produced ahead of time using AI image generation and text-to-speech services, and are then stored and served by us as ordinary content files. Your personal information is never sent to these providers. They receive only the vocabulary words being illustrated or spoken, and they are not involved when you play a session.
We may also disclose information if required by law, regulation, or legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users, the service, or others.
4. Local Device Storage
EarNoun stores information locally on your device to support offline play and faster loading, including downloaded content packs (images and audio files), your learning progress, and app settings. Deleting the app removes locally stored information from that device.
Local deletion does not automatically remove server-side account data. See Account Deletion below.
5. Data Retention
We retain account and synced progress data while your account remains active. Subscription-related records may be retained as needed for accounting, fraud prevention, and legal compliance. Local cached data remains on your device until removed by the app or deleted by you.
6. Account Deletion
You may request deletion of your account and associated data by emailing support@seliswan.com from the address associated with your account. We will take steps to delete or deactivate your account and associated data in accordance with our systems and legal obligations.
Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription purchased through an app store. Cancel the subscription separately in your Apple App Store or Google Play account settings.
7. Children
EarNoun is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information to us, please contact us at support@seliswan.com.
8. International Data Transfers
Your information may be processed and stored in countries other than the one in which you live (including the United States). Those countries may have data protection laws that differ from the laws of your jurisdiction.
9. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information. Traffic between the app and our servers is encrypted in transit, and stored data is encrypted at rest. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure.
10. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your location, you may have rights regarding your personal information, including rights to access, correct, or delete certain data. You may:
- Manage or cancel subscriptions through Apple App Store or Google Play settings.
- Email support@seliswan.com to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, or to exercise other privacy rights.
For California Residents: If you reside in California, you may have additional rights under the CCPA, including the right to know, delete, and correct personal information, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by the CCPA. Please contact us at the email below to exercise these rights.
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will provide notice in the app, on our website, or by other appropriate means.
